okay. i was beginning to get worried that one of the following had happened:

1. somehow my taste disappeared and nothing would ever appeal to me again

2. everyone had started to follow the 20's-ish inspired dirty silk feel of urban outfitter's new collection

3. the whole world had gotten too boring

but then this glorious update occurred:

ahhhh thank you, thank you, nasty gal vintage. i can now rest easy in the comfort of having new clothes to lust after. but WHY OH WHY are the faux leather leggings already sold out?!?! nooooooo!

okay, so, after having nothing catch my interest for weeks my mind has just been blown. stay tuned...

i know i know i've said it before... total fashion rut. this is lasting much longer than i had thought that it would. it's just one of those times when you walk into every store or look at every website and everything just feels kind of "eh... just alright." i haven't seen anything that has really grabbed my attention and imagination in a little while.

i have been drawn towards black drapey looks.

promise i'll update some more today. currently on my list of things that i'm thinking about are ribbons, peter pan collars, thigh-high ribbed socks, and more ways to wear my men's wingtip shoes. also-- what on earth do people wear on their feet when it's winter time and they don't want to look like a yeti? i haven't come up for an answer for that one yet, but it isn't for lack of trying.

also, in an interesting twist of fate, i was set loose in Topshop yesterday with $70 to spend on the spot. my beautiful bag i had bought only a few weeks ago had basically unraveled and succumbed to a sad fate. Topshop let me have an exchange since they no longer carried the bag, but i had to find something right then and there. hasn't this been my dream basically every time i walk in that store? well, of course i choke on the spot and can't find a single thing. On all three floors packed with amazing clothes. hello? brain? where did you go? i finally settled on an angora striped sweater with a stag print on the front and an asymmetrical hemline. i'm still debating whether or not i made the right choice, but you know? it's pretty cozy. i think i'll be juuuuust fine.
