short

pre-order item from urban outfitters.
the hard part with pretty much anything leather is that if it's not juuuuust right it can look so wrong, but done right there's pretty much nothing better (well, according to me). too tight and you look like a skank, too loose and it's just bizarre, too much and you look like a dominatrix, etc etc. these shorts take a preppy, feminine, classic shape and use leather to give it a new twist. leather trouser shorts. yes please.

carbon copy

noticed lately:

Alexander Wang Faded Denim Jacket with Leather Sleeves (photo: shopbop)
Gripp So Tuff Denim Leather Jacket (photo: pixiemarket)
Silence and Noise Rally Jacket (photo: urbanoutfitters)

while i appreciate the fact that pixie market and urban's versions are slightly more affordable it's really almost too recognizable as wang to pull off a copy. then again, if i was crazier about the jacket in general i would probably snap up one of the other versions like my life depended on it. that's bad to say in terms of supporting designers, especially one that i adore as much as alexander wang, but as a poor college student there are some things you just gotta do.

heavy metal

studs have been making their way into more and more fashion trends recently, which i find ridiculously exciting. i've been seeing a lot of studded yokes and collars lately. only recently did i keep a few pictures...

i wish that i could remember the other examples that i've seen recently, but you know if urban outfitters is making them than they have to be a fashion trend they're copying from somewhere. i say this with love.

this makes me want to continue the DIY projects that i started late this summer-- studding my cork wedge heels and a f21 jean vest. i have my bag of studs and a whole day of sickness ahead of me. it's like the badass version of knitting... right?

big cats

this summer after spotting a few giant faux leopard print coats in a thrift store i became obsessed with finding one for myself. as soon as i started looking for one they seemed to pop up everywhere except for stores near me in my size. will i ever find my one of a kind pre-loved leopard coat in the dusty corner of some thrift store or will i wind up caving in and ordering one from urban outfitters that i'm sure i will see passing by on every hipster kid in town?

With the temperature dropping and my access to thrift stores significantly downsized the byCORPUS jacket is looking pretty cozy...
